About Midland Doula- a West Texas Doula and Educator

Congratulations on your decision to learn more about how a birth and postpartum doula can help support you and your family!

I’m Chloe Adams-Gibbs, the birth and postpartum doula behind Midland Doula! My birth and postpartum doula journey began in 2021  after the birth of my daughter.

My attitude toward birth is very modern and balanced. There is no one size fits all approach to people so there can’t be when welcoming a new human to the world. Regardless of your birth choices, I will support you and ensure you are respected no matter what. Hospital or home, in water or in a bed, midwife or doctor – I will stand next to you and your partner with candor, a nurturing touch, and a joke on hand. Along with being a Birth Bootcamp Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Birth Instructor, I  am a VBAC Link Advanced Doula and am qualified to educate on and promote successful VBACs and prevent C-sections in all mamas. I am also currently working on becoming a  Lactation Counselor and I can’t wait to offer that knowledge to you!

Whether you have searched for a doula for your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum period (or all 3!) you may be overwhelmed with the list of questions you would like answered. This is completely normal and I’m happy to chat with you and answer any questions you may have. In the meantime, feel free to check out the F.A.Q page.

Proudly serving the west Texas area for in-person care: Midland, Odessa, Monahans, Big Spring, Greenwood, Gardendale, Andrews, Crane, Seminole,  and Pecos. If you’re outside of this service area, I offer virtual doula services. You can get more information here.

Do it!

If you are thinking about hiring a doula or taking a birth class- do it! We were definitely on the fence, but after meeting Chloe she made my husband and I feel at ease immediately and the more we worked with her the more I could see how passionate she is about her work. It’s totally cheesy but she really does become your birth bestie. I really don’t know how I would have survived without her support during my rough pregnancy and long birth but she made me feel so loved, supported, and powerful. Her birth class completely prepared us for what was to come. We love her so much and she is a part of our family now.

Best in Town!

I had no idea what a doula was until after I had my daughter and ended up with a c-section. After doing some more research this time around, I decided I really wanted a VBAC and I knew a doula would increase my chances. I interviewed other doulas in the area first, but after meeting Chloe I knew she was the doula for me. All through my pregnancy she was warm, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The amount of knowledge she has is crazy and she had so many resources and connections that helped me even more. She is by far the best in town and not only does she know her stuff but she is so kind and loving. My VBAC was successful thanks to her!

I’m Married to my best friend

I met my husband way back in 2013, but we didn’t start dating until 2020 (right as the pandemic started). After one weekend together, we both knew we were stuck with each other for life. John is an Army veteran and chef who plays video games and semi-professional paintball in his free time. Extra fun fact, we both have a part of our wedding vows tattooed in the other’s handwriting.

We have one perfect daughter

Gracie- Elaine was born in June of 2021 prematurely and is our NICU warrior! She is named after my great-grandma, grandma, and my husband’s mom and grandma. She is already a little stinker and absolutely full of personality. She definitely has more of my personality, and has a love for dance and horses like I did growing up!

I saw my first live birth at 7 years old

You heard that right! When I was 7 years old, I vividly remember my mom standing in the doorway of our balcony reading a book when her water broke. She had absolutely no signs of labor that day. Within 15 minutes of her water breaking, my sister was born on our couch before the EMTs even got there. Our breezeway neighbor handed me my sister to hold while she helped my mom deliver her placenta. Watching all of this happen was entrancing to me and definitely was the beginning of my lifelong fascination with birth. 17 years later, I got to be present at the birth of another baby sister, but it was a planned c-section and I got to be the first to snuggle her. Both experiences showed me no matter what, that birth is a transcendental experience and so sacred!
